The BMW 8 series (code name E31) is a 2-door 2+2 coupé powered by a V12 engine and later also a V8. The car was produced by the German car manufacturer BMW from 1989 to 1999. The 8 Series had to compete with the Mercedes-Benz SL and Porsche 928 – an area where BMW had not been active until then. To reinforce this concept, BMW equipped the 850i with a number of technological firsts, such as the electronic accelerator pedal and the coupling of a 6-speed gearbox to a V12 engine. After 10 years and 30,621 units built, production was discontinued in May 1999.

It was delivered new in Spain in 1991 to the first owner. The 2nd owner brought the car to the Netherlands in 1998 and kept the car until 2021. Now it is offered by a private collector who wants to buy an 850CSI.

The paint is in very good condition. There are no dull spots or other abnormal damage. Some stone chips can be found on the hood. All panels fit nicely and show no irregularities. Also all lines are nicely parallel. All panels were measured using a lacquer thickness gauge and these values were all between 160-300 microns. We deduce from this that the car has been largely repainted. This has been done very carefully.

Nice shine, some stone chips on the hood, no abnormal damage.

Black full leather interior in very nice original condition. The dashboard is not cracked or damaged. Only a panel around the gear lever shows some cracks, see photos. The steering wheel and gear lever are also original and in very good condition. Roof headliner is still good, but not completely tight, as can be seen in the photos. Some digits of the on-board computer are no longer readable.

Very solid BMW V12 engine with a cylinder capacity of 5L! Good for 300hp power and 450nm torque. This 850i was equipped with the manual gearbox, which has been made much less than the usual 4-speed automatic gearbox. The engine and gearbox are in good working condition.
