The Citroën Méhari is a passenger car of the Citroën brand that was produced between 1968 and 1988. The car is based on the chassis and engine of a Citroën 2CV, with a body made of ABS plastic. There was a front-wheel drive version and a four-wheel drive version. The name refers to the word méhariste, a French colonial soldier from Algeria, who rides a camel.

This lightweight off-road vehicle was used for recreational purposes, but also used by the French army and Gendarmerie. The same concept, with the body and engine of a 2CV, was also used for production in the developing world. The Citroën FAF (Facile à Fabriquer) was an aluminum version of the 2CV that somewhat resembled a Méhari and was intended for Africa. The Dalat was produced in Vietnam. There was also the Pony version, which was produced in Greece. The 4×4 version was added to the program in 1979. However, it remained a rare appearance, less than 1500 have been sold. Competitor Renault brought the Renault Rodeo on the market, based on a Renault 4. However, it was not exported much outside France. In 1970 the Méhari was exported to the United States.

The body is in generally good condition with some damage but nothing serious. The damaged body parts can be seen in the exterior photos last.

The front and rear seats have already been completely renewed. No damage.

The engine has a displacement of 602 CC, good for 29 hp and 40 Nm of torque. This engine is connected to a 4-speed manual gearbox. This one was replaced for sale by another one. The top speed is 100Km/h.

January 2022 another gearbox was placed + oil. Furthermore, there is no history of maintenance.

The car could use a technical check, the condition of the shock absorbers etc is unknown. But the car starts and drives immediately.

This car is offered by order of a customer. The value of these Mehari's increases year after year - especially of specimens in such nice condition.
