In case you are not aware of the BMW E30 M3 models and their special editions, the Johnny Cecotto Edition was created in honor of Venezuelan works driver Johnny Cecotto. This model introduced the 215-horsepower version of the catalytic converter-equipped 2.3-liter S14 engine. This engine, which would be used as standard in European M3s from September 1989, can be recognized on the Cecotto by the body-colored valve cover. All other mechanical aspects of the Cecotto edition are identical to the standard E30 M3

The M3 Cecotto was offered in the same three exterior colors as the E30 M3 Evolution II: Misano Red, Macao Blue metallic or Nogaro Silver metallic. It also featured the M3 Evolution II front and rear spoilers and was further distinguished by its thinner rear window, chrome tailpipes and 7.5×16-inch alloy wheels with a unique black metal center. However, unlike the M3 Evolution II, the Cecotto does not have the front brake cooling ducts instead of fog lamps.

The known weak spots of this model are in good condition. Only RA was found to have a small rust spot in front of the rear wheel, see photos underneath. All body lines fit nicely and there are no irregularities to be seen.

The car has already been repainted, when this was done is not quite clear. The paint has a nice shine and there are no irregularities. The trunk spoiler should be repainted because the paint is cracked.

On the inside, the standard BMW sports seats were upholstered with a special M-Technic fabric with Bison leather bolsters. The interior is in good condition and everything is in working order. There is no abnormal damage or wear to be found. Only on the steering wheel a line was once glued, to create some extra RACE feeling.


{{ $t('Engine and Gearbox') }}

The well-known 4 cylinder engine with 16 valves is called S14B23. The engine version is 23 4S 2 good for 215HP! The engine starts easily and runs very well, no faults were found. Also, the gearbox type "dogleg" is in good condition and has no noises. The car drives well and brakes well. A real pleasure to drive!

The vehicle received fresh oil + oil filter in July 2020, the oil used was Castrol 10W60.

The car comes with an A4 classeur with invoices throughout the years, as well as the original service booklet is present and stamped. The Belgian registration certificate + inspection certificate will be delivered with the car. Also the Carpass that has been indicated every year since 1996 until 2021 is present. It is also fully chronological. There is also a valuation of the car. The car was estimated on 27 September at 85 000 euros. Pictures of this can be found in the gallery.
